Mission Statement
ReCycle North’s mission is to (1) protect the environment by reducing the amount of reusable and repairable items dumped in landfills, (2) give individuals in transition valuable job skills, technical training and more opportunity, and (3) alleviate the effects of poverty by making vital household goods and building materials available to the poor. In pursuit of these goals, ReCycle North will:
- self-finance operations to the highest level possible through reuse sales and professional reuse and training services
- serve disadvantaged youth and individuals who are homeless, unemployed, dependent on public assistance or struggle with physical or mental barriers to employment
- develop staff capabilities and teamwork through continuous learning, evaluation and challenge
- collaborate with other community organizations and serve as a community resource, and
- cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit that will allow the organization to grow to meet evolving challenges.
