Silent Auction

How it works: We regularly get special items and have a hard time determining their value. So we let customers decide what they are worth. Bids are recorded at either the Household Goods Store or the Building Materials Center depending on where the auction item is located. Current bid values are visible to all, though the bidder's name and contact information is available to ReCycle North staff only. At 5:00 p.m. on the auction's closing date the bidding process changes to Sealed Bid only in order to prevent crazy scrambling for position at the bid sheet. The auction closes and bids are opened (or read from the bid sheet if no sealed bids were submitted) at 5:30 on the auction's closing date. The winner is notified by phone and does not need to be present to win.
