Olivia

Olivia is a recent high school graduate who was looking for a non-traditional training program that would accommodate her visual processing issues. She was referred to ReCycle North by the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. A grant from the Gibbney Foundation enabled ReCycle North to customize a rigorous training program to fit Olivia’s needs.
“ReCycle North has helped me understand all of the skills required in a office environment. ” In addition to improving her computer skills, Olivia gained organizational and time management techniques that will be required in any position that she chooses to pursue.
Oliva’s high energy and infectious smile have endeared her to all of the office staff. She is the youngest trainee that ReCycle North has ever had in the Apprentice Style training program. According to Olivia, she “has learned a lot about working with people, especially older employees." Olivia leaves ReCycle North for a one semester residential program designed to teach leadership skills. She then has the promise of a paid internship for the non-profit agency that she has always dreamed of working for.
