Work Experience Training

The Work Experience program offers training opportunities to those who may not be ready for the Apprentice-Style or YouthBuild programs or who are looking for a less intensive commitment. Individuals served include in-school youth, people with emotional or physical disabilities and others with little or no work experience. The emphasis in the Work Experience program is not as much on technical learning as it is on establishing workplace routines, learning to make decisions and keep commitments and to give and receive feedback while handling multiple tasks.
The Work Experience program also supports participants in the welfare to work program called Reach Up. Referring agencies look to ReCycle North to provide a supportive but structured environment that will help reintroduce successful workplace habits and attitudes while giving participants new skills. If participants succeed in the program, ReCycle North is able to serve as a positive reference as they seek employment.
